High School Placment Test (HSPT), Study Guide Practice Test & Flash Cards
The High School Placement Test is a standardized and reliable test instituted to evaluate and screen incoming candidates and is used commonly by Private Schools and Catholic High Schools in the United States. It is however not an effective assessment of the knowledge of candidates in any specific subject (s).
Eligibility
•The HSPT is a placement test for Eight Graders to gain admission to the Ninth Grade in certain schools and institutions in the United States. Hence the eligible candidate for taking the exam should be an Eight Grader.

Registration
•The HSPT is administered by and conducted at the Private/ Catholic school requiring it.
The Exam is held once a year.
Registration is done at the respective school requiring HSPT clearance from the child.
Format
•The HSPT exam consists of 298 questions in multiple choice format.
•The HSPT exam is aimed at evaluating the cognitive and basic skill quotient of the candidates and establishing standard scores compared at a local and national level and from year to year.
•The HSPT score range is between 200 to 800. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
•Every school has its own stipulated minimum score requirement while considering prospective candidates for admission.
•Online practice tests and study guides help prepare the candidates better for the exam.
•The HSPT exam can be taken only once by a candidate.
•The exam is two hours and thirty minutes.
