American College Test Exam Information, Study Guide Practice Test & Flash Cards
The American College Test is a college level admission examination and is aimed at testing the prospective candidate's knowledge in the specific four subject areas of English, Mathematics, Reading and Science. The test is administered by ACT. ACT results are accepted for admission into all 4 year colleges and Universities in the US. ACT is also taken by students who have been identified as academically talented by their schools under the academic talent search programs.
Children of any age or grade are eligible to apply for the test.
Grades 6, 7,8 or 9 and of age 13 and above are generally encouraged and expected to take the test.
The ACT exam consists of 4 multiple choice tests with a total of 215 multiple choice questions.
The test is administered on 5 to 6 test dates in the months of September, October, December, February, April and June across the United States.
Practice tests are available online to help students prepare better for the exam.
A student who has created a Student web account, can view multiple choice score and composite score on line.
The duration of the exam is three hours and thirty minutes. Actual testing time is two hours and fifty five minutes and an additional thirty minutes is required for the optional writing test.
Registration for the exam can be done online at the website www.actstudent.org
Students over the age of 13 can apply online while those under 13 can request for the registration packet
The fees for Basic Registration is $32 (no writing) and $47 (plus writing).
